British MMA is something that is evolving day by day and as time has gone on we’ve began to see a much higher quality and better skillset from our fighters. Apart from fighters like Darren Till, Michael Bisping, Leon Edwards and now Paddy ‘the baddy’ Pimblett, very few fighters however have managed to captivate audiences and get the full backing of their nation, so here are 7 British fighters in the UFC that you need to know about.

8. Jai Herbert

Lightweight fighter Jai Herbert comes into this after his brutal first round KO win against Khama Worthy last weekend. Fighting out of Birmingham and training at the infamous Team Renegade, 'The Black Country Banger' has developed a brilliant all round fight game. Herbert came to the UFC back in January 2020 after being the Cage Warriors lightweight champion, he found it a tough start losing his first two fights but a bounce back win against Worthy may set him on his path through the division.

7. Danny Roberts

Danny 'Hot Chocolate' Roberts is a welterweight fighter with back to back wins in the competitive division. He's had 23 total fights with 11 of those being in the UFC, he is a bit more experienced than some of the others on this list, and you could see this with how well he managed the fight in his recent win against Ramazan Emeev. He's come up short against big names in the past like Mike Perry and Michel Pereira but I'm pretty sure the best is yet to come from this 34 year old.

6. Mason Jones

Mason Jones is the second Cage Warriors double champion of all time after the lightweight fighter captured the CW welterweight strap, the other fighter to have accomplished the double champ status in Cage Warriors? Conor McGregor. Jones has a current record of 11 -1-1 with one no contest after an accidental eye poke, 6 of his 11 wins have been finishes and his wrestling game seemed to have improved massively in his last fight after training with Team Alpha Male out in California.

5. Molly McCann

Molly McCann is a skilled all rounder trying to pave a way for British women in the UFC alongside the killer that is Joanne Calderwood. Meatball Molly came to the UFC from Cage Warriors with a 7-1 record vacating the women's flyweight championship, since then she's won 4 of her 7 fights in the UFC with her most recent being very significant as it ended her 2 fight skid. I'm expecting big things from the scouser!

4. Jack Shore

Jack 'Tank' Shore is the only fighter on the list who holds an unbeaten record, with 15 wins 0 draws and 0 losses and only leaving it in the hands of the judges 3 times, I look forward to seeing the Welshman progress through a stacked bantamweight division. Shore is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, finishing 8 of his 15 wins via submission, including his first fight in the UFC which earned him a performance of the night bonus.

3. Paul Craig

Paul Craig is currently ranked 12th in the UFC’s Light Heavyweight division and is definitely a fighter to look out for, he recently had a fight scheduled against a big name in Alexander Gustaffson but the latter pulled out due to injury a week before, so keep your eyes pealed for when he is back in action. Fighting out of Coatbridge in Scotland, Craig is a master of Jiu-Jitsu earning 12 of his 15 wins via submission which could easily have been 13 when he finished heavy favourite Jamahal Hill in his last fight and earned a performance of the night bonus for it too.

2. Arnold Allen

Arnold Allen is unbeaten in his time in the UFC with 8 consecutive wins giving him the second longest unbeaten streak in the featherweight division, the only man with a longer run is current champ Alexander Volkanovski. The Ipswich born fighter has an unbeaten past record in kickboxing swell as being a purple belt in BJJ so be prepared as he can end the fight anywhere at any time. After going into his last fight as the underdog he put on a great performance that earned himself the 6th placed rank it will be interesting to see how he gets on against the cream of the crop.

1. Tom Aspinall

I really have saved the best till last here in my opinion as this man is the future of the UFC heavyweight division. Aspinall has won his last 7 fights with 6 by KO/TKO and 1 by submission, he's 4 for 4 in the UFC beating vets like Andrei Arlovski and earning three performance of the night bonus cheques in the process. As well as being a mercenary on his feet he is also a black belt in jiu jitsu and has incredible footwork. He trains at Liverpools Team Kaobon with the well known Darren Till and has been tipped for greatness by his peers at the gym. Aspinall says there needs to be no rush in his journey to the top and is gonna keep picking off the opponents ranked above him one by one.
